Kim V. Goldsmith – A Love Letter

Call for Submissions Now Open

14 Feb – 14 March 2026

Moruya, NSW

Opening on 14 February at the Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre in Moruya, South Coast NSW, A Love Letter is a personal story 30 years in the making, told through the sounds and imagery of the waters, forests and soils of the Eurobodalla region of the South Coast. Kim V. Goldsmith holds space for the voices of more-than-human species in the telling of her experiences and relationship with the region, and places she’s visited with her family since the 1990s. The collection of field recorded sounds, moving images, and installation works capture the signature sounds of the Eurobodalla—from the mountains to the sea, from a human and more-than human perspective. Until 14 March.

Building and Construction Terrains | Alan Cook

13 Feb – 21 March 2026

Sauerbier House, Port Noarlunga, SA

as part of Adelaide Fringe 2026

Cook explores the links between homelessness, sound, and the built environment. Sculptures shaped from local homelessness data resonate with acoustic and electronic abstractions of recordings from a nearby construction site. Through bone conduction, subtle vibrations travel through metal, air and brick, echoing the rhythms of labour, progress, and human displacement. This installation invites visitors to listen through touch, experience data as vibration and structure as sound. The work reflects on how the structures we build leave social and emotional traces of the lives impacted that endure beyond the material form.

Wrangling in the Antipodes Blog Update:

False Colour Spectrograms

Wrangling in the Antipodes has kicked off 2026 with a new technical deep-dive, with Tristan Louth-Robins publishing a detailed post exploring the use of scikit-maad for False Colour Spectrum (FCS) analysis in soundscape research. The article walks through how FCS can be used to reveal different layers of activity within a recording (separating, for example, biophony and low-frequency anthropogenic noise into distinct colour channels) and reflects on its potential for analysing longer-duration ecological recordings.
